Twinsets and Toolbelts

Look out for me at THETA 2019 The Tipping Point. I’ll be delivering Twinsets and Toolbelts – Developing Library Data Skills AKA Library Carpentry at Macquarie University Library (see p. 9 for the abstract) with my colleagues Heather and Grai.

We’ll be discussing how we mobilised existing skills and engagement at our place of work and drew on The Carpentries community, lessons and instructor training, to create a community of practice around data science skills for librarians. In doing so, we addressed the gap in librarians’ technical skills, needed to meet the challenges of effectively supporting our clients in a data focused research environment.

Will you be at THETA this year? I’d love to catch up with you there!
